Sanitation Practices
At Cosmétique, your safety is our top priority. We adhere to the highest standards of hygiene and sanitation to prevent any potential cross-contamination. We exclusively use 100% disposable tools, ensuring that all blades and needles are pre-sterilized and individually packaged, complete with a trackable lot number and sterilization date for verification. After a single use, all needles and blades are disposed of properly in FDA-approved sharps containers. Our artist follows strict hygiene protocols, including thorough handwashing before and after each procedure, and the consistent use of gloves throughout the treatment process. Additionally, any machine parts or surfaces that may come into contact with fluids are covered with a barrier film, which is replaced for each new appointment. The setup for each treatment is carefully organized to maintain proper sanitation during the procedure and ensure easy and efficient cleanup afterward. Once the tools have been disposed of, new gloves are applied, and all surfaces are sanitized using medical-grade disinfectant Cavi wipes. You can rest assured that we prioritize your health and safety, going above and beyond to implement best practices in hygiene and sanitation.
Filler & Botox
Botox is effective for addressing symmetry issues that minimal enhancements cannot correct. To achieve optimal results, a brow enhancement should be performed two weeks after the injections, as this timing allows for the adjustment of brow movement, which directly impacts symmetry. Lip injections can also help balance symmetry. It's advisable to wait six weeks after injections to minimize swelling and inflammation. If you're seeking a reputable injector, Cosmétique can refer you to trusted providers.
Skin Care
It's important to recognize that certain treatments and topical solutions can affect the longevity of your enhancement. Laser treatments, chemical peels, and facials can cause the color to fade, as can topical solutions that brighten or exfoliate the skin. Sun exposure and artificial UV rays can destabilize colors, leading to shifts in hue. To protect your brows, cover them in tanning beds and apply sunscreen while spending extended periods in the sun. For frequent tanning bed users and those who sunbathe frequently, brow enhancements may not be suitable, as the skin integrity is often too compromised, leading to dark or unnatural results.
Pregnancy & Nursing
At Cosmétique, we prioritize the health and safety of our clients. Therefore, we do not perform permanent makeup procedures on individuals who are pregnant. If you are nursing, we recommend waiting until you have completed breastfeeding before scheduling a permanent makeup appointment. During the nursing phase, hormonal fluctuations and increased skin sensitivities can significantly affect the healing process and pigment retention. Consequently, the results of the permanent makeup procedure may not be as effective or long-lasting as desired. We appreciate your understanding and encourage you to reach out if you have any questions or concerns regarding our policies. Your well-being is our primary focus.
Brow Pre-Care Instructions
To achieve optimal healing and results from your upcoming treatment, it's essential to follow these pre-care instructions: 4 Weeks Prior - Discontinue all Retinol products, chemical peels, laser treatments, microneedling, and resurfacing treatments. - If you have used Accutane, a waiting period of 1 year is required before treatment. 2 Weeks Prior - Avoid Botox injections; you may resume them 2 weeks after your treatment. 5 Days Prior - Stop using non-prescription blood thinners, such as Aspirin, Advil, ibuprofen, and Fish Oils. Tylenol is acceptable for pain relief. - Discontinue any age-defying products containing acids. - If you have oily skin, exfoliate the eyebrow area a few times before your appointment. 24 Hours Prior - Limit alcohol consumption the night before and restrict caffeine intake on the day of the treatment (one cup of coffee is permissible). - Avoid tanning for 24 hours before your appointment.
Previous Work
At Cosmétique, a free consultation is required before booking an appointment, though it does not guarantee that the artist can perform the service. Various factors can impact the artist's ability to implant color into the skin effectively. Any body ink in the brows must be removed with a pico laser and allowed to heal for 90 days before undergoing a brow enhancement. Color and shape corrections are considered on a case-by-case basis. Our top priority is to provide ethical, quality services, starting with the integrity of the skin.

Lip Pre-Care Instructions
To achieve optimal healed results, it's crucial to follow the pre-care instructions. Neglecting these may negatively impact outcomes. 4 Weeks Before: Discontinue Retinol products, chemical peels, laser treatments, microneedling, and other resurfacing treatments. If you've used Accutane, wait one year before treatment. 5 Days Before: Avoid non-prescription blood thinners like aspirin, Advil, ibuprofen, or fish oils. Tylenol is acceptable for pain relief. Stop using any age-defying products with acids. 3 Days Before: Keep lips moisturized to ensure proper color retention. 24 Hours Before: Limit alcohol the night prior and caffeine on the day of treatment (one cup is fine). No tanning within 24 hours.
Cancer
To prevent infection or adverse reactions, it's advisable to wait a few months to a year after your chemotherapy has ended or your last surgery, depending on the tattoo location. Brow enhancement is a wonderful service for cancer survivors, especially since hair may not regrow as it once did, and brow hair can sometimes disappear completely. Cosmétique specializes in precise measurements of the brow bone to achieve the most natural and familiar results.
Longevity
Permanent makeup often faces misconceptions regarding its maintenance and longevity. While it requires infrequent upkeep, fading occurs gradually, and there's no guarantee on how long it will last. Typically, results can last between 1-3 years before touch-ups are needed to maintain color, shape, and detail. Facial skin retains pigment differently than body skin, leading to faster fading due to its thinner structure, proximity to blood vessels, and higher sebaceous gland activity. Environmental factors and skincare products also influence retention. Although professional pigments are inserted into the dermis and deemed permanent, fading and color changes are normal. Touch-ups, recommended 6-12 weeks after the initial session, help assess skin response and make necessary adjustments to extend the tattoo's longevity. These follow-up sessions typically incur additional costs.
